Follow Me

I try to re-use, recycle or re-purpose wood and other found objects in my projects. The environment is important so I do what I can to conserve water and support worthy conservation organizations like World Wildlife Fund, Sierra Club, Mission Blue, Wyland Foundation, Earthjustice.

Although I’ve always had an eye for color, I didn’t really acknowledge that skill until I bought and ran a picture frame shop years ago.
In the recent past I’ve been working on crafts and have also started painting. I’ve tried to focus on using reclaimed or recycled wood for projects and some paintings, but I’ve had to move on to canvasses now for the most part. I do try to paint the outside edges of whatever base I’m using so a collector wouldn’t need to have the piece framed as I do know how expensive that can be!

Sometimes a scene will inspire me, sometimes it’s a picture I’ve run across. I put my own spin on the scene in what I refer to as my style of ‘Primitive Expressionism.” I’ve had no formal training but have watched videos of current artists, picking up insights while also getting some pointers from my artist husband, who has a Fine Arts Degree.

I also try to mark all my art with the slogan, “Every Day IS Earth Day.” Color has always fascinated me. Gardening, art and even cooking allow me to blend and experiment.
